There’s something quite mesmerising about a fire – but not when it is on a path of destruction!

On the way to work a couple of days ago I came across a fully involved house fire, something I’ve only ever seen once in my life (thankfully).  When I passed the scene the fire crews had not long turned up and even at that stage it was easy to see someone’s life had just been shattered.  Continue reading

365 Photo Challenge – Week 1

And so the 365 Day Photo Challenge begins.  This is our first summary of the week that was.  Layton kicked off his 365 Challenge with the rugby image above (pun entirely intended).  The rest of the week’s images are below.  There are only a total of 5 images this week since we started the year on a Wednesday.  As you can see Layton has carried on recent experiments with miniatures over the last few days.

A Retrospective – 2013 in Review

As we say goodbye to 2013 and ring in the New Year we thought it was the perfect time to reflect on the last 12 months.  This has been a time of breaking out for us.  A year that saw us shifting away from the normal and start experimenting with lighting and different types of photography; as well as undertaking a couple of themed and collaboration projects.

During 2013 we have also been concentrating on our brand and securing regular printers so we could improve our products and services and expand to offer fine art prints we could be proud of.

12 Days of Christmas (Images) – Day 11

Christmas time is always better with community involvement.  We’ve already posted a couple of examples of community Christmas spirit with the Light Up Your House contestants on Day 5 and Day 9; but today we’re looking at the Santa Parade.  These photos were taken a few weeks back at the Southland Santa Parade.  There were some great floats this year and a great turn out from the community.

12 Days of Christmas (Images) – Day 5

Today we are celebrating one of my favourite things about Christmas…Lights!  There’s nothing more fascinating at this time of year than taking a bit of time out to do the Christmas lights circuit.

If you haven’t already been out, why not head out into your neighbourhood.  What better excuse for a nice family drive – or park up and go for a stroll.  People put so much effort into making their houses look amazing that it would almost be criminal not to get out and appreciate all their hard work (not to mention the money it must cost them).

In Invercargill we have a Light Up Your House competition, these are a couple of the entrants this year.
