Keane Wedding: Pretty in Pink

We’re fast approaching the end of the year, a time for reflection.  As we wrap up the post-processing for our first wedding of the current season, and look forward to our next one, it’s the perfect time to showcase another couple from last season.

A few of these images have already been added into our galleries, but there are so many we loved from this wedding that we also wanted to share them in a blog post.

Weddings are unique to each couple.  One of the things we love most about weddings is seeing how couples include different elements into their wedding day.  When we meet with our couples we like to figure out what makes their wedding different from others, which allows us to personalise our photos for each couple.

From the pink polka dot rockabilly dresses, to the Irish groom and the gorgeous bride, we knew Colin and Natalie’s wedding was going to be one to remember.  We weren’t quite prepared for the level of commitment from one bridesmaid though – with her matching pink hair!

With the wedding being held in the basilica, we put in an order for bright sunshine during the wedding, followed by moody skies (but no rain) for the photos.  It almost worked out brilliantly – except the rain came ever so slightly early and we got soaked during the last set-up of the formal photos (the photographers, not the wedding party).

Before we share the full gallery, here are three special mentions:

Keane Wedding-Irish Flag

On the day of the wedding Colin noticed both the mother of the bride and his mother, joined by Natalie, happened to be wearing the perfect colours to form an Irish flag of sorts.  This was too good to pass up, considering the groom’s family were Irish.

Keane Wedding-chucks

During the rehearsal Natalie wore her leather jacket, sunnies, and pink chucks.  It was such a great look.  Knowing their colour theme was pink, Layton asked her to bring them along for a bit of a fun photo idea.  This shot was a quick behind-the-scenes capture from when she was getting ready.  Once we saw it, we knew it had to be kept in the collection.

Keane Wedding-No Evil

Speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil.  A bit of a fun shot to end the session before we headed off to the reception.

We’d like to say a huge thanks to Colin and Natalie for choosing us to capture their day.  You were both so relaxed and the entire day was such a true reflection of who you both are.  Even the wedding car threatening not to start during the photo shoot was a source for jokes.  It really was a pleasure to be part of your special day.

We’d also like to thank both their families for being so welcoming – right from the minute we walked through the door they made us feel like part of the family.  From the laughs and jokes, to the food and drink you all offered throughout the morning.

Although there are many more images we’d love to share from this wedding, here’s a collection of some of our favourites.
